Don’t Bring Up Gay Rights When You Visit- Kenyans Warn Obama

Kenyans on Monday, July 6, 2015, have held a anti-gay protest as a warning to the US president, Barack Obama not to bring up the gay right issue during his planed visit to the country.

The protesters chanted “We do not want Obama and Obama, we do not want Michelle and Michelle,” they chanted. “We want Obama and Michelle and we want a child!”

According to reports, the protesters who numbered around 100 people, wore T-shirts and waving posters with the slogan “Protect The Family”.

The protest came a day after Kenya’s deputy president William Ruto, who is standing trial at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity, told worshippers at a church service that homosexuality was “against the plan” of God.

Obama’s is expected visit Kenya and Ethiopia later this month. This will be fourth time Obama would be visiting Africa since becoming US president, but his first to Kenya since assuming office in 2009.
