The two-time African Champions have notified the match commissioner on the hostile reception from their hosts ahead of Sunday’s Caf Champions League match

Nigeria’s Enyimba have officially notified the match commissioner for Sunday’s Caf Champions League encounter against Anges Anges de Notse about the hostile reception of their hosts since arrival to Lome on Friday afternoon.

Aside from failing to welcome them at the airport, Anges officials and the Togolese Football Federation (TFF)did not provide them with adequate security .

Though the Enyimba’s chairman Felix Anyansi made alternative arrangement for the accommodation of the players and officials, other accompanying officials including Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) top shots were made to stay for hours without being attended to.

The hotel provided for the Nigerians was revealed to be a mere uncompleted Conference with the environment not conducive.

In a chat with Goal on the development, Felix Anyansi described the treatment meted out on them by their hosts was a plot to unsettle the team ahead of the clash billed for Sunday. He expressed lamented about the shoddy arrangements provided for his team saying it was in sharp contrast to the five-star treatment accorded to them while in Nigeria.

“We have not been this maltreated since the time we have been participating in this competition. We have always been accorded dignity and respect from our hosts just like we have always been doing
to visitors when they come to Aba,” Anyansi told Goal.

“They failed to come and welcome us at the airport. There was no car to carry the leader of delegation and the two buses they provided to take us to the hotel was insufficient.

They didn’t give us security to save us from the hazards on the road and they provided us with a
conference centre in place of a five star hotel,” he lamented.

“They kept our officials stranded for over seven hours all in an attempt to unsettle us. We have reported to the match commissioner, Lewis Laiye from Ghana and we are very hopeful that something tangible will be done about this,” he concluded.
