FIFA Chooses Italian Referee For Nigeria vs Argentina Match (PICTURED)

World football governing body FIFA has selected referees to officiate in the ongoing 2014 World cup matches.

33-year old Nicola Rizzoli has been chosen to oversee the  group F match between Nigeria and Argentina on Wednesday, June 23, 2014 in Brazil while 43-year old Carlos Velasco will officiate Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran match, which will start at the same time also in Group F.

These matches are the final matches in the preliminary round for Group E and Group F.

Rizzoli and Velasco had previously officiated at FIFA Club World Cup,FIFA U-20 World Cup, Europa League 2010 finals, Champions League 2013 finals and UEFA EURO 2012, FIFA Club World Cup 2013 amongst others, respectively.

Their names were among the list of referees FIFA selected for the Brazil 2014 matches 41 to 44.

Here is a rundown of referees who will also be officiating at the ongoing 2014 world cup.

Nicola Rizzoli – Nigeria and Argentina (Group F)

Carlos Velasco – Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran match (Group F)

Nestor Pitana of Argentina – Honduras versus Switzerland (Group H)

Noumandiez Doue – Ecuador versus France (Group E).
