We Are Fighting For The Interest Of Nigerians – Ike Eweremadu

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu on Thursday, June 25, 2015, said that the recent happening in the national assembly is in the interest of Nigerians.

The lawmaker who represents Enugu in the senate made the comment via his twitter handle. He said; “Dear Nigerians, please be rest assured that we are all fighting for your interest. We need your prayer and support for a better Nigeria”.

The senate went on a two weeks recess following emergence of Saraki and Dogara as Senate President and Speaker of the House respectively. They resumed plenary on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 following the recess.

Nigerians have criticized the decision of the national assembly to go on a one month recess at a time the nation eagerly awaits the appointment of ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari. Such appointment must be approved by the senate.

Mr. Ekweremadu however, assured that the Senate would “reconvene once the Ministerial list is ready”.
