Miyetti Allah Kautal Haure, a Fulani socio- cultural organisation, has unanimously endorsed Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria, as its candidate ahead of 2019 election.
Garba Saleh, the Bauchi State chairman of the group, stated on Sunday, February 18, 2018, that President Buhari’s sterling performance had earned him the endorsement.
According to Daily Post, Saleh stressed that since the emergence of President Buhari’s APC led government, there has been relative peace especially in the North East.
The chairman blamed those accusing herders of being responsible for herders/farmers clash, saying it was pure blackmail.
It could be recalled that about 73 Tiv extraction were recently killed and given mass burial following attacks by suspected herders in Benue state.
But the organization has dismissed allegations linking it to series of killings in most parts of the country.
It also described as a blackmail those accusing Buhari of lack of prompt action on the killing.
Saleh reiterated that such blackmail will not deter herders’ support to president Buhari ahead of 2019 election.
The group had earlier warned against any attempt to remove Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, saying the eyes of the Fulanis all over the country were ‘opened,’ stressing that Buhari was hated because of them.
“Nobody should try to remove Buhari in 2019. All the Fulani in Nigeria today, our eyes are open.
“All of us are behind Buhari; we have seen that they want to destroy the Fulani because of Buhari.
“We would not allow anybody to intimidate the Federal Government or to take Buhari’s mandate; we would be ready to follow him and fight it. We are ready to do anything to ensure that Buhari comes back to complete the good work he is doing.
“The people criticizing him are just few and nothing would affect his chances of coming back.”
