Horror! Fulani Herdsmen Kill And Burn 2 People In Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of 3 people who were killed in renewed attacks by suspected Fulani armed men in Jebbu-Meyango, Bassa LGA, Plateau State. The attack which took place at about 7pm on Thursday, January 25, 2018 also left eight other people wounded.

Matthias Terna, the police public relations officer, said the attackers killed and roasted the deceased, with two beyond recognition torched houses numbering 20. He added that the attackers fled on sight of the Police rescue team drafted to the area after a distressed call.

“Yesterday at about 1900hrs, the Police Division in Bassa Local Government received a distress call that Jebbu-Miango in Bassa was under attack,” the police spokesperson said in the statement.

“The division immediately informed the Command and we mobilised to the place.

“While we were close to the village, the armed men suspected to be Fulani Herdsman sighted us and took to their heels.

“Three people were killed and burnt by the armed men: One Danlami Gomaster male of Kwall District and one Emmanuel Audu male of Jebbu-Miango were identified while the last person is yet to be identified.

“8 other persons sustained various degree of gunshot injuries and were taken to Enos Hospital in Bassa for medical treatment.

“20 housing units were also set ablaze,” the statement said in part.

The police spokesman said investigations were on to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the attacks”, He said.
