LAGOS, Nigeria — Two Gbagada schools – Gbagada Senior Grammar School and Lanre Awolokun High School- have received AI technology centres from the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation and businesses within the Zinox Group.
George Emetuche, the foundation’s director of studies, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, said it was targeting 1,000 academically talented young Nigerians from low-income households for full university scholarships and technology training.
Emetuche said the first beneficiaries had obtained places to study computer science and computer engineering at Nigerian universities.
He said their names would be announced later.
At the commissioning, Leo Stan Ekeh also told students that outstanding academic performance could qualify them for scholarships and further technology training.
Ekeh urged federal and state governments to give education greater priority and improve remuneration for knowledge workers.
Ekeh said, “An angry or hungry teacher cannot deliver quality content to students.”
The donation provides each school with Zinox desktop computers, interactive screens with artificial intelligence features, and two years of Starlink satellite internet.
Renewable energy systems supplied by iPower are intended to provide electricity around the clock.
Konga Group, Task Systems, TD Africa, and Zinox Technologies Limited participated in the project.
According to a statement from the foundation, its work now covers 123 projects across education and technology, serving institutions from primary school to university.
