Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi on Friday, April 10, 2015 appointed a singer, Abolore Alexander Akande, popularly known by his stage moniker, 9ice as a Special Adviser with barely 24 hours to gubernatorial elections in the state.

Ajimobi faces stiff competition from two former governors of the state – Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala and Rashidi Ladoja – in the Saturday, April 11, 2015 governorship election.

Although 9ice has been appointed as a Special Adviser, his specific role is yet to be disclosed.

9ice had recently joined politics and contested for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Ogbomosho North Constituency seat, but lost the party primaries.
