ADO-EKITI — Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has dissolved the state’s executive council, sparing a select group of commissioners and advisers from the shake-up.
In a statement on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Secretary to the State Government Habibat Adubiaro directed the affected commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the permanent secretary or most senior civil servant in their ministries, departments, or agencies.
“Governor Oyebanji thanks the affected members of the state executive council and wishes them success in their future endeavours,” the statement read.
The dissolution does not affect the attorney-general and commissioner for justice, nor the commissioners for health and human services; agriculture and food security; education; works; and trade, investment, industry and cooperatives.
Also exempted are the special adviser on special education and social inclusion and the special adviser on lands, survey and e-GIS.
Additionally, all directors general who sit on the executive council will retain their positions.
These include the director general of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the director general of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and project monitoring, and the director general of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
