Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has sent a message of felicitation to the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, who turns 60 today, March 8, 2017.

In his message, delivered in a statement signed by Dr. Austin Tam-George, the Rivers State commissioner for information and communication, Governor Wike praised the Professor Osinbajo as a “man of destiny, whose intellect and Pan-Nigerian vision will continue to serve the country well at a momentous time.”

Governor Wike prayed for God’s protection and guidance for the acting president as he pilots the affairs of the country.

The acting president was elected vice president in 2015 as the running mate of ailing President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on an indefinite medical leave in the United Kingdom.

He became acting president on January 19, 2017 when President Buhari officially communicated to the Nigerian Senate that he was embarking on a sick leave, which was initially set for 10 days.

Buhari was expected to return to the country on February 4, 2017, but failed to do so. Rather, he communicated to the Senate that he was going to extend his sick leave on doctors orders.

Yemi Osinbajo is a law professor and senior advocate of Nigeria. He was educated at the Igbobi College, University of Lagos, and London School of Economic and Political Science.
