Must read

Workers in Ogun State on Monday, March 14, 2016 staged a mass protest over allegations that Governor Ibikunle Amosun had embezzled pension and cooperative contributions of 67 months (5 years, 7months).

According to the protesting workers, Governor Amosun had been insensitive to their plight and had refused to pay the said funds to them.

A disgruntled worker who preferred to remain anonymous availed that some workers had not been paid for about 3 years while others have not received their cooperative contributions for more than 5 years.

He further revealed that there is also the issue of unpaid wages for Local Government workers and staff of tertiary institutions.

He further lamented the refusal of the state TUC and NLC to address the issue, accusing both unions of being under the control of the state government.

It would be recalled that workers in the state have been on strike over unpaid wages and poor working conditions.
