Hoodlums Suspected To Be Political Thugs Set State High Court Ablaze In Ebonyi

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, a group of suspected political thugs reportedly set fire to a state High Court in Owutu-Edda, Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi.

According to the registrar of the court, Oluchi Uduma, the hoodlums invaded the building and set it ablaze, burning down the court building, documents, and other valuables.

Confirming the incident, Chima Nkama, the chairman of Afikpo South Local Government Area, revealed that the matter had been reported to the police.

This is the latest in a series of violent attacks on government institutions and infrastructure across the country, raising concerns about the security situation in the country.

As investigations continue, there are fears that the perpetrators of this heinous act may go unpunished, a development that could embolden others to engage in similar acts.
