A class teacher identified as Mr Nathaniel has allegedly molested a 10-year-old primary 5 in a school located at Glass Industry, by Eugene Avenue, 7up, Ogbor Hill, Aba in Abia state.
According to the pupil (name withheld), her class teacher has been molesting her sexually since January 2021.
The father of the victim, Ignatius Onyechekwe, narrated; “My daughter usually comes home late from school and my wife will be complaining. She said she told one of the teachers to be releasing her on time. When the mother asks her why she comes home late, she said its uncle Nathaniel that asked her to wash the toilet.
“One of the days, about 3 months ago, she came home and was crying, by then the uncle had come to my house telling me that my daughter behaves like someone possessed that she is always crying.
“When she comes home crying, she won’t tell me why she was crying. After the uncle told me that, I told him that its only prayers that we need.
“Whenever she comes home from school, she will be afraid. If you wake her up in the morning to go to school, she will ask you ‘is it everyday that somebody will go to school’?
“On Thursday night (June 24) was when she called her mom. She said ‘mummy, if I tell you this thing will you die? She said no. Then she told her mom that her uncle used to molest her in the class.”
Mr Onyechekwe called on the government and other relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served.
On her own part, the pupil told our correspondent; “The other day in our school, it was during break time so all our whole classmates have now go out. The class is now empty, is only me and the man that is now inside the class so he now used his manhood and put inside by buttocks he now started molesting me.
“So another day, there’s one open room that is in that place and there are so many this thing there so he now went to that place, he now tell me to remove my clothe, he now used his manhood, he now start doing the same thing to me.” [SIC]
On how many times Mr Nathaniel allegedly molested her, the victim said; “four times.”
On why she didn’t report to her parents, she said; “He told me that he is a military man. I was scared that he will come and arrest my daddy, so I told my classmate.
When asked what she wants from the government, Success said; “I want government to sue him and send him to prison.”
The matter is currently at Area Command Aba as well as the suspect.
The victims father alleged that the school authority was trying to cover the ugly incident as they have refused to do anything as regards to the matter on ground.
