The Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Suleiman Abba has called on Nigerians to desist from taking laws into their hands.

He issued this warning in response to the action of  a group of villagers in Kamba, Kebbi State who were about to lynch a national of Niger Republic, named Adamu Gaya, on suspicion of involvement in a ritual murder of a young girl.

However, he was rescued by the Police and brought into protective custody.

The  irate villagers proceeded and attacked the Police station and destroyed the communication base.

They also burnt two Police vehicles, and nine motorcycles. Also smashed were the windscreens of four cars parked at the premises.

The mob also burnt the official residence of the Divisional Police Officer.

Following the attack, four persons lost their lives and eighty-nine persons have been so far arrested for the violence.
