Ikhide Ikheloa: Why I Salute Ben Murray-Bruce

Must read

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he witch hunt continues; out of tens of thousands of debtors, the pigs of Nigeria’s Animal Farm have fished out Ben Murray-Bruce for humiliation, “Oh look, he owes BILLIONS!”

Meanwhile, Aisha Buhari cannot muster the courage to simply demand that the US clears her good name and stop the ugly rumors that she has a criminal record to address in America.

General Buratai has recovered from mowing down hundreds of Shi’ites for no reason, and now is trying to convince us that he saved hundreds of thousands of dollars from his $5,000 a month salary to purchase choice properties in Dubai. The ruling political party in Nigeria, All Progressives Congress, APC, has no shame.

I will not judge Ben Murray-Bruce. This is what I know, I have nothing but admiration for the pioneer, the warriors of Nigeria’s private sector. It takes genius to do what they do in a climate that the government works hard to make hostile for business. I know friends who were doing very well as mere traders until they ventured into production in Nigeria. Broke them, because they had to rely on mythical infrastructure and Fashola-style government bullshit.

The question should be: Why are things the way they are? How is it that tens of thousands cannot repay business loans? What just happened here and how can we correct course? What structures should be put in place? This selective attempt at humiliating members of the opposition are the trademark of our shameless APC. Is it now a crime to owe money? Awon oshi!

Those who owe should make plans to be current in their bill payments. Those who gave out bad loans should also hold themselves accountable. The only thing that ticks me off is that many of these people treat their employees poorly. How can you get billions in loans and still be owing? I was a victim. Ask NEXT. Na America save me from Nigeria! Nonsense!

I salute Senator Ben Murray-Bruce. Carry go, hold your head high, nothing do you!
