Must read

In the wake of rumours that he is on his way back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has come out to explain the reason for his absence at the campaigns of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking via an interview with the British Broadcasting Service (BBC) Hausa, on Friday, March 20, 2015, Atiku said he opted out of the APC rallies because he was not invited to the events, adding that he will continue boycotting the gatherings until he was duly invited.

He said: “There are minor irregularities in connection with the system being followed by the campaign team of General Buhari but we are trying to correct it. They need to check the strategy they are adopting.”

Atiku, who had lost to General Buhari in the APC presidential rally said he had discussed the issue with Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, who serves as the Director of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.

He posited thus: “I told him that if he did not invite me, I will not go.”
