INEC Fixes Date For Kogi, Bayelsa Gubernatorial Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced dates for governorship elections to be held in Kogi and Bayelsa states.

Speaking via a statement issued in Friday, July 10, 2015, INEC’s Head of Information and Voter Education Committee, Chris Iyimoga announced that party primaries should be held in Kogi State on or before Sunday, August 23, 2015 while elections will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Iyimoga also announced that primaries should be held in Bayelsa on or before Saturday, September 5, 2015 as elections will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015.

Iyimoga also availed that campaigns shall commence in Kogi on Friday, July 24, 2015 and end on Sunday, November 29, 2015 while that of Bayelsa is to run from Sunday, September 6 to Friday, December 4, 2015.
