Islamic terror group and religious extremists, ISIS, have struck again and this time by beheading two children for failing to comply with the Islamic Ramadan fast in Syria on Monday, June 22, 2015. The Ramadan is the holy month were Muslims are supposed to abstain from food, drink, sexual activities from sunset to sundown but this month usually exempts pregnant women, children, sick and aged people.
The boys were reported to both be younger than 8 and their “crimes” were later hung around their necks written on a placard, according to AFP reports.
The founder of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Founder (SOHR), said; “Apparently, they were caught eating.” ISIS has captured considerable territory throughout Iraq and Syria.
This would not be the first time ISIS beheads children or used children in their terrorists activities. In February 2015, The United Nations Committee on Child Rights gave a detailed description of some of the militants’ horrifying abuse of children.
“We have had reports of children, especially children who are mentally challenged, who have been used as suicide bombers, most probably without them even understanding,” said committee expert, Renate Winter.
“There was a video placed [online] that showed children at a very young age, approximately 8 years of age and younger, being trained to become child soldiers.”
Their targets have included Christians, Yazidi minorities, Shiite and Sunni Muslims while subjecting boys to violence and death and subjecting the girls to being sex slaves sold in market places.
In early June 2015, the jihadists, released a 14-minute video which showed young boys in training to become suicide bombers. They described this abuse as a “great honour.”
“Indoctrinating kids with ISIS’ fanaticism is not only the easiest population to indoctrinate but also produces new generations of ISIS believers and ultimately, at some point, fighters. This is the way you build a Caliphate,” said Steve Emerson, the executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.
He continued: “Their goal is to rebuild the Islamic societies they have conquered into a global comprehensive Islamist system that takes over all aspects of society from garbage collection to teaching at the Madrassas [religious schools].”
