The secretariat of the Isoko Development Union in Oleh, a town in Delta State was the target of a suspected bombing when a massive explosion has rocked the facility, which is widely known as Isoko House, on Friday, August 26, 2016, just hours after its annual conference had begun there.

Witness who spoke to journalists said the incident appeared to be a well-planned attack, and claimed that no group had claimed responsible for the attack as at 5:00 pm on Friday.

Delta State is at the heart of the renewed militancy in the oil-rich Niger Delta region and has witnessed series of attacked mounted against oil installations by militant groups.
