British Prime Minister David Cameron and his Conservative Party have on Friday, May 8, 2015 claimed victory in the recent election, winning 326 seats out of 650 in the parliament, giving them the go-ahead to form a new government.
The results mean that the Conservatives are set to govern alone for the next 5 years, CNN reports.
Three party leaders have resigned in the aftermath of the election results, including opposition Labour Party leader Ed Miliband and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg.
Cameron will meet with Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, after which he is expected to give a statement from Downing Street.
