[dropcap]M[/dropcap]onths after the “disappearance” of Nnamdi Kanu, no one has been able to tell us, IN CLEAR TIME-BOUND PRACTICAL TERMS, how we intend to get Nigeria restructured in the face of Northern resistance.
No one!
Not Ohaneze
Not Afenifere
Not Middle belt forum
Not Niger Delta Peoples Assembly
Not Igbo governors or the politicians.
Absolutely no one!
This is even as the aforementioned groups carried on then as though the Afara-ukwu born political economist turned freedom fighter was the village witch holding down the restructuring destiny.
Hate him or love him, the IPOB leader was among the very few men who TRULY studied and understood Nigeria with the exactitude of a Jewish Prophet.
He knew that the Arewa North WOULD NEVER allow for Nigeria to be restructured through the existing constitutional framework. He was not unaware of the fact that it would take a very credible threat of imminent breakup for the Caliphate to agree to the enthronement of justice, fairness, equity and healthy competition which a genuine restructuring represents.
Regrettably, several months after he went missing, following the invasion of his home by the Nigerian army, even those who swore he was not doing it the right way have since conducted a referendum and had their tongue secede from the rest of their body now that his “disappearance” has gifted them with the unique opportunity of showing us that “right way” they have always theorized about.
Now, we are being dragged into yet another election UNDER THE SAME CRIMINALLY FLAWED STRUCTURE, maintainability of which we all agreed was not an option.
Shame, isn’t it??
