Lil Nas X Faces Felony Charges After Alleged Naked Confrontation With Police in Los Angeles

Must read

LOS ANGELES, USA — Rapper Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, has been charged with four felonies after allegedly assaulting police officers while wandering naked along Ventura Boulevard last week, according to court filings and law enforcement officials.

The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded in the early hours of Thursday to reports of a nude man in the Sherman Oaks area.

When they approached Hill, he allegedly charged at them.

A law enforcement source told NBC News that Hill punched an officer twice in the face during the confrontation.

It remains unclear whether Hill was experiencing a mental health crisis or a possible overdose.

Hill was taken to a hospital following the incident and later arrested on suspicion of battery on a police officer.

Court documents filed Monday, August 25, 2025, in Los Angeles County Superior Court show he now faces three counts of battery on a police officer and one count of resisting arrest.

Release on Conditional Bail

Hill spent the weekend in custody before appearing before a judge on Monday morning. He was released on conditional bail set at $75,000.

Attorney Christine O’Connor, representing Hill, argued in court that the 25-year-old musician posed no flight risk.

“Assuming the allegations here are true, this is an absolute aberration in this person’s life,” O’Connor told the court, noting that Hill has no prior criminal history and citing his Grammy awards as evidence of his “remarkable” career.

As part of his release conditions, Hill must attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings per week or enrol in an outpatient narcotics programme.

Pending Questions

O’Connor said there was no evidence that drugs were involved, though she noted test results may be pending. “Nothing like this has ever happened to him,” she added.

TMZ first reported on the incident, publishing video of Hill walking in the street wearing only white briefs and cowboy boots. The outlet later released footage of him naked and barefoot.

Hill did not enter a plea during Monday’s hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 15.

Authorities have not provided further details about the circumstances leading up to the altercation.
