Court Jails Man For Hacking Friend To Death In Ogun

A chief magistrate court sitting in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital had on Tuesday, October 21, 2014  jailed a 24-year-old man identified as Adedeji Adeniyi, after charging him with murder.

The suspect allegedly gruesomely killed one of his friends known as Akeem Agbadaowo, 25 with a matchete.

While speaking in court, the police prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Eigbejiale said the gruesome murder occurred at the Mokola area of Abeokuta, Ogun state, on Saturday,  May 3, 2014 at about 9:50 pm.

He disclosed that prior to the tragic incident, there was an agrument between the duo which eventually led Adeniyi to kill Agbadaowo using a machete and a broken bottle, according to reports.

The Chief Magistrate, Anthony Araba, who adjourned the case for further mention on January 9, 2014 ruled that the accused be jailed until the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) says otherwise.
