Manchester United Drops To 6th On ‘Most Valuable Sports Clubs’ List

Must read

Manchester United slipped from second to sixth in the Forbes list of the world’s most valuable sports clubs released on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

United saw their value drop from $4.12 billion to $3.81 billion and fell behind La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, who retained their respective positions of third and fourth from last year.

The Old Trafford club endured a miserable 2018-19 campaign, finishing sixth in the Premier League and missing out on a place in the Champions League for 2019-20.

The NFL’s Dallas Cowboys topped the list of 50 clubs for a fourth consecutive year, with MLB’s New York Yankees second and the NBA’s New York Knicks completing the top five.

Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool were the only other football clubs who made the top 50. Of the top 10, seven of them are American sports teams. Baseball, American football, and basketball teams top the ranking.

The two top Spanish football teams, Real Madrid and Barcelona, are the most valuable football teams in the world. Unsurprisingly, the La Liga clubs also own the most valuable football players in the world today.
