LAGOS, Nigeria — Veteran broadcaster and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? host Frank Edoho has candidly revealed that his second marriage has ended, admitting he may not be “good at marriage.”
Edoho made the disclosure during a revealing conversation on the popular podcast Tea With Tay, hosted by actor and comedian Taymesan, where he reflected on the collapse of both his marriages.
In the emotional interview, Edoho said despite giving his all in both relationships, the unions didn’t work out, not because of a lack of effort, but because of an absence of deeper connection.
“Maybe I’m not good at marriage, I must confess. The two women I had been married to are not my soul mates,” he said.
Edoho described the difference between a “soul mate” and “the love of your life,” explaining that a soul mate is someone who understands you without needing explanations, someone you naturally align with — and that, he says, has been missing in his relationships.
“Love of your life is different from your soul mate. The love of your life is the person who comes to your mind when you think of love. But your soul mate is someone who understands you even before you express yourself.”
Edoho stressed that he gave everything to his marriages.
“I went above and beyond for the two marriages. I carried my partner… I can abandon everything for her. But you don’t blame them for falling out of love with you.”
He also reflected on how even seemingly perfect people get left behind, citing the example of retired Brazilian football star Kaká, whose wife divorced him because he was “too good.”
“Kaká was handsome, successful, loved by fans. But his wife still divorced him. Do you know what she said? ‘He is too good.’ Sometimes, being good isn’t enough.”
Frank Edoho, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most eloquent broadcasters, was previously married to television personality Katherine Obiang.
The pair divorced in 2011. He later remarried but kept details of his second marriage largely private. The end of this union had not been made public until now.
While Edoho has maintained a low profile concerning his personal life, his latest revelation marks a rare moment of vulnerability and introspection for a figure often seen as confident and composed.
