Tests conducted by FC Barcelona doctors on Leo Messi, their most valuable player and captain have confirmed that he has a fracture of the radial bone in his right arm.

He will be out for approximately three weeks, the club announced on their website on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Despite 4-2 win against Sevilla at Camp Nou on Saturday, Messi was substituted in the 26th minute after falling awkwardly in midfield and injuring his arm.

The Argentine had been decisive in the early stages of the win, providing an assist for Coutinho’s opener and then adding a second himself.

According to Barcelona FC, Messi could miss up to six matches, among which will be the El Clasico with Real Madrid on October 28, 2018.

Messi will also miss the Champions League match against Inter Milan on October 24, 2018.

Other matches are Cultural Leonesa (31 October), Rayo Vallecano (3 November), Inter Milan (6 November) and Betis (11 November).

“After these six games (three in the league, two in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey) there is a break for international matches so the Argentine could be fit to return on November 24, 2018, against Atlético Madrid”, the club said.
