A bomb had been previously planted by the insurgents who were patiently waiting for the area to be a populated before they would detonate the devise but unfortunately for them, enough, the devise was found and the military attention was called to avoid the attack.
According to the spokesman of the youth vigilante group, Jubrin Gunda, there was no cause for an alarm as the explosion that caused the panic was detonated by the military to forestall any casualties.
He said, “The attention of the security was called to a strange package dropped at the busy Custom area of the town this morning (Friday).”
“The people of the area woke up to see the strange object and immediately called the attention of the military who moved to the place to discover that it was an explosive device.
“They went to the area and detonated the bomb at about 10:45am.”
