The English Football Association has handed under-pressure Chelsea manager, José Mourinho a one-match ban and a £40,000 fine for saying something to referee Jon Moss during halftime of a loss against West Ham a fortnight ago. Despite the 52-year-old being sent off in that game, the FA has decided to punish him even further.
There have been persistent rumours that Mourinho will be sacked by Chelsea if he gets a bad result against Stoke City this weekend. The stadium ban now means the embattled coach will not be in the technical area when the Blues face the team that knocked them out of the Capital One Cup just last week.
You will recall that Mourinho has already been handed a suspended one match ban and a £50,000 fine for comments he made after Chelsea’s loss to Southampton on October 3, 2015.
Could it get worse for José? Tough days indeed for the Blues.
