Fulani Herdsmen Insist On Nomadic Grazing, An Avenue To Kill Natives

Must read

Fulani socio-cultural organisation- Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has said that it would continue to resist the idea of cattle ranching because “it is very expensive.”

The national president, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, January 25, 2017.

The group, however, said that it supports the establishment of cattle colonies by the federal government.

Bodejo said that it is the only solution to the recurring crises as, “it will bring peace in the country.”

He called on the security agencies to protect him because his life was under constant threat by unknown persons.

“The threat I am having on a regular basis gives me sleepless nights. People called me and clearly tell me that they are going to kill me if I refuse to withdraw the case we instituted against the Anti-Grazing Law in Benue State from court. That is why I am calling on security agencies to protect me; I am just protecting the interest of my people,” he said.

Mr. Bodejo who said that he had been experimenting cattle ranching since the past four years, noted that it is not economical and that the Fulani in Nigeria will not accept it.
