Professor Ben Ayade of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has all but won the governorship election held in Cross River State after results were announced for 16 of the 18 local government areas in the state.
According to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the State, Comfort Ekpo, Ayade polled 283, 549 votes, with Odey Ochicha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Fidelis Ugbo of the Labour Party (LP) polling 52, 562 and 35, 848 respectively.
