Mrs Patricia Ekechi, who is a native of Owerri West Local Government area of Imo State is now a Mayor of Enfield, United Kingdom.
Councillor Patricia Ekechi said she was “honoured” to become Mayor of Enfield.
A handful of well wishers and family members who had journeyed from Nigeria and Florida, United States of America confirmed that the new Mayor has been a resident of Enfield for more than 37 years,.
She said: “I am honoured to be taking up the position and serve a borough I have lived in for 37 years.
“I will be the Mayor for the people.”
