Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said on Tuesday, January 4, 2021, that it had penalised six of its officers for alleged misconduct.
Ayinla Makinde, the corps commandant, addressed journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, on the command’s stewardship in 2021.
He said two of the officers had been transferred out of the state, while the cases of four others had been taken to the national headquarters for disciplinary action.
Makinde said the command received 1,027 cases bordering on theft, assaults, land disputes, rape, criminal breach of trust, burglary, and debt, among others.
He said that 31 cases were prosecuted with six convictions recorded, while 24 cases were still pending in court.
