
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II is dead, according to reports.
The monarch died in Lagos Friday, September 4, 2015. He had been suffering from an undisclosed ailment.
The Olu of Warri, who is the traditional ruler of the Itsekiri people was coronated on May 2, 1987. He was crowned by Chief Ogbemi Rewane, the late doyen of Itsekiri history and the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom.
The Olu of Warri is a lawyer and second university graduate to ascend the throne of the Warri Kingdom.
