SAD: Trailer Crushes Boy To Death In Imo

At least one person was confirmed dead after a trailer rammed into the perimeter fence of the Imo state Environmental Transformation Commission crushing a man and severely inflicting injuries on two others.

According to reports, the trailer’s brakes had malfunctioned, leading to the driver losing control of the vehicle, destroying office furniture, television, refrigerators, documents and part of the building.

According to an eye witness, the truck bearing registration number XB 882 HAL, which was alleged to have belonged to Ibeto Group was fully loaded with cement when it crushed the man as it bashed into the walls of the Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO) located along Okigwe the road, in Owerri Metropolis of Imo State.

He further disclosed that tragic incident happened about 12.30pm and that two other persons who were seriously injured were rushed to the Federal Medical Center, Owerri by a good Samaritan.

However, one of the staff of the commission was said to have escaped death by whiskers as he has just left his office a few minutes earlier before the truck rammed into his office.

Speaking with newsmen at the scene, the General Manager of ENTRACO, Emeka Osuoji narrated, “I was in my office around 12noon when I had a loud noise and when I came out I saw the IBETO truck already destroyed part of my office.”
