Oyo Gov’t Approves N9.3 Billion For 106 Buses

Oyo State Government has approved the purchase of 106 units of new buses at a cost of N9.3 billion to complement the existing Bus Rapid Transit in the state called the Pacesetter Transit Service, PTS.

The government also approved the construction of two link roads around Akobo axis at a cost of N69.1 million.

The project, the government said, would be executed through the direct labour effort of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSTROMA.

The government said it has approved N2.538 billion for the introduction of an intelligence transportation system, including traffic signals, traffic signal installations, traffic signs, anti-finger metal security fence, and other infrastructural system with a control room and coordination around Challenge, Felele-Idi Odo area.

The approvals form part of decisions reached during the Executive Council meeting held on Tuesday at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday, October 28, 2020, the commissioner for information, culture, and tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun said the meeting, the 29th, was chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde.
