The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, announced via a tweet that the fire outbreak has resulted in the slow movement of motorists and advised that they use alternative routes.

“Motorists who are yet to connect Eko Bridge are advised to use alternative routes such as Third-Mainland Bridge and Carter Bridge.

“Emergency Responding Agencies like Fire Service, LASEMA, LASTMA are all on ground.”

The emergency workers also urged traders trying to salvage their goods from under the bridge to leave for their safety.

Subsequently, the CMS and Eko Bridge inward or outward Apongbon area of Lagos was closed to traffic.

Burnt containers under the bridge were also cleared to prevent another outbreak within the shops.
