Fayose Says PDP Must Negotiate With With Peter Obi And Nyesom Wike

Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti, said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, needs to negotiate with the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, and Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state.

Fayose stated this while speaking in an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

According to Fayose, Obi and Wike could affect the chances of the PDP in the 2023 polls.

“Reconciling or negotiating with Obi will be a good thing and finding a way to make peace with these Wike people will be a good thing too,” he said.

Fayose said the former Anambra governor may not secure the required 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states to be declared winner.

The former Ekiti governor asked the PDP to negotiate with Obi, and also resolve the crisis in the party by reconciling with the camp of Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, in order to win the presidency.

He said, “Obi is a danger to watch out for. I don’t believe Obi will make 25 percent of votes in two-third of the states of the federation.

“I’m not against Obi. I love him and he is a very vibrant leader. I don’t believe he will get the required 25 percent of votes because of my permutations as Ayodele Fayose, but with God, nothing shall be impossible.

“Let me say Obi is more of a chronic cancer to PDP and there is no denying,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fayose also expressed fears over the chances of the PDP winning the South-West and South-East regions of the country in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

He said, “Let me give you an analysis. In South-West, people might not like to hear that, I don’t see how PDP will win. Anybody deceiving us can continue to deceive us.

“I don’t see how PDP will win in the South-East. South-south will be a combination of all interests. Let me come to the key states of the north.

“Without deceiving ourselves, there is so much work to do in the north-central. PDP and APC did not pick any candidate, either presidential or vice-presidential, from the north-central. The North-East is where the vice-presidential candidate of APC comes from.

“We will give Adamawa state to our party. Don’t forget there is still another Kwankwaso who is a semi-cancer that can equally upstage figures in the north,” he said.

‘Don’t expect me to insult Asiwaju’ – Fayose Declares Support For Southern Presidency

Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has said that he won’t be insulting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, to show he’s not in support of his ambition.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, on Thursday, November 17, 2022, Fayose noted that despite the political differences some northern governors or politicians have with President Muhammadu Buhari, they don’t resort to abuses.

He described Tinubu as a Yoruba leader, while also adding that he respects Atiku Abubakar of the PDP the same way as the APC chieftain.

“Let me tell you: if people are expecting me to abuse Tinubu to show that I am not supporting him, I would not do that,” the former Ekiti governor said.

“If the only way to demonstrate to everybody that I am Bola Tinubu’s enemy is to come out as a Yoruba man and insult Bola Tinubu, I will never do it.

“Listen to me, Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu are over 70 years old leaders, why were they sitting together to rub minds and did not carry cutlasses against it each other? Count me out of that (insulting Tinubu).

“I am not going to be insulting Atiku. I am not going to be insulting Tinubu.”

The former Governor also stated that he is in support of Southern presidency since President Buhari is about to complete his second term and is from the northern region.
