PDP Presidential Campign Is Unstoppable – Mu’azu

Must read

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adamu Mu’azu has emphatically stated that the PDP presidential campaign train had entered an unstoppable phase after observing  two-day break.

Mu’azu, who spoke via a press statement signed by his media aide, Tony Amadi and dated Thursday, January 15, 2015 said: “The PDP campaign for the 2015 elections is coming on stronger and stronger and the fight back to claim the soul of Nigeria is rapidly growing with the unstoppable PDP campaign train moving around the country until victory on February 14 is achieved.”

“After just six major stops that have taken us to Lagos, Enugu, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Osogbo and Ado Ekiti in the heart of the South-west, the party is reclaiming lost territories from the opposition All Progressives Congress(APC).

“We have sent a strong message that continuity is the best option for Nigeria so that the great works of the PDP federal and state administrations will lead us to the promised land. “Our message to the youth of this country is that the PDP is the only party in this election which can make their future greater than what it is – creating and securing jobs for them, giving them sound training as we have done in the past four years and empowering them through the YouWin programme and other job-creating strategies we have set out.

“We are also making the people to be aware of the lies making the rounds at APC rallies across the country. They say they will fix the roads of the South-east and reopen the coal corporation mines and energise coal power for electricity. Have they told Nigerians how much it will cost? How will the money be sourced? You can only make a promise you can fulfill for the days of empty promises are well and truly over.”

He said the PDP will not fold its arms “while the APC is getting away with murder, telling cheap lies to gullible people who have no way of knowing that they are merely making empty promises. We tell it as it is, what we have done and what we intend to do when we get a second term for the President. We have hit the campaign road running and will tell the people the truth on the ground.

“By this week, after rounding up the South-east cities of Abakaliki, Umuahia, Owerri and Awka, the people of Nigeria will know that the devil you know is far better than the angel you don’t know.

“For 15 years, the PDP has worked the Nigerian political terrain perfectly well, deepened democracy to the point that freedom is embedded in all of us and we are not going to return to another bout of dictatorship of the 70s and 80s where progress is stunted with visionless leadership forced on us. Nigerians enjoy real freedom under President Jonathan, a situation the APC cannot maintain. That is why people abuse President Jonathan on Facebook, twitter and elsewhere without the secret police looking for them.

“The PDP will continue to show the light for the people to find their way under the leadership of President Jonathan who have done enough to deserve the continuation of the transformation of Nigeria until 2019.

“The PDP has come to the point in this democracy where it will allow the minority to have their say, while the majority has their way. Only the PDP can ensure and guarantee this status as enshrined in our Constitution.”

Mu’azu said after a review of the party’s campaign strategy, the PDP leadership feels they are taking steps in the right direction.
