Nigerian Pentecostal Body Condemns Zamfara, Enugu Fulani Herdsmen Killings

Must read

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in a statement made Saturday, 27, 2016, have called on the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies within the country to accelerate the investigation process into the killing of eight students of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic in Zamfara State, and a Catholic seminarian in Enugu.

The national president of the PFN, Rev. Felix Omobude describing the innocent killings in Zamfara State and Enugu State as barbaric and shocking, urged security agencies to use all resources in unraveling circumstances that surround their deaths, apprehend perpetrators and ensure that they face the law.

Omobude lamented that with each attack, it was becoming more difficult to find answers to the “seeming helplessness on the part of law enforcement agents” to put a restraint on persons who have insisted on barbaric, riotous and criminal acts, while claiming to be acting on religion.

“We condemn these acts of violence being increasingly witnessed, which is absolutely unacceptable.

“We urge the police and other security agencies to move swiftly to get to the root of these incessant attacks and bring the perpetrators to book, as it would appear that some people seem to assume they are above the law and can always get away with murder and arson,” the statement read.
