Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State was on Saturday, May 7, 2016 obstructed by Fulani herdsmen and their cattle in his state.
Okorocha was on a tour of some of his projects with members of the Nigerian press when his convoy ran into a slow-down because of cattle that were walking in the middle of the road.
According to a journalist, Ike Abonyi, who was on the tour with the governor, it took over 30 minutes for the governor’s security detail to clear the road the cattle who “walked majestically” on the road.
This incident happened at Amakohia Orlu Road in Owerri, the state’s capital at about 4pm. It wasn’t until 4.30 pm that the cattle left the road for the governor and his delegation to pass.
