Newly sworn in lawmakers in the House of Representatives have not wasted time in fanning the flames of their own inner feud as a serious fight broke out among the legislators exchanged blows on Thursday, June 25, 2015 over the choice of principal officers for the lower chambers.
The tension and divided interests among the two factions of the chambers surfaced during the plenary session. It was gathered that the controversial inauguration of the National Assembly on June 9, 2015 was at the heart of the leadership tussle.
A tweet by Breaking Times shows the battling legislators and the confusion in the House.

Sometime during the fighting, the Mace which is the symbol of authority in the House disappeared and was learnt to have been carried into the office of the Speaker of the House for safety.
As at the time of filing this report, the fighting has still not let up as confusion reigns supreme with no one in charge. Some of the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara’s loyalists have surrounded him with each one’s voice rising above the other trying to tell the speaker what to do.
