President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday, March 8, 2015 held a closed-door meeting with a former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar and a former South African President, Thabo Mbeki at the President’s official residence at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Reports have it that the meeting was convened so as to afford General Abubakar the opportunity to brief President Jonathan on the discussions of a meeting he held with the country’s service chiefs and Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Although none of the participants spoke with newsmen after the meeting, it is believed to be connected with the forthcoming general election.
