President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Friday, May 22, 2015 inaugurated the Defence Radio 107.7 FM owned by the Defence Headquarters of the Armed Forces Radio Services, Abuja.

The radio house is situated inside the Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja.

The radio station is said to be the first of its kind in West Africa, which would play a crucial role in informing the public about the activities of the Armed Forces.

President Jonathan commended the Armed Forces for their tremendous and resilient fight against insurgency in the North-East while condemning the negative and unproductive criticisms against the military.

He stated that such criticisms could weaken the morale of the troops.

The inauguration of the radio is significant in itself in that the radio will serve as an authentic source of information form the fronts of the war against insurgency.
