President Jonathan Writes Letter To NYSC Member Who Donated N10,000 For His Campaign

President Goodluck Jonathan has stated that he will keep on relying on the support, goodwill and prayers of patriotic Nigerians as he aims to provide the country with the best possible leadership as he aims for the positive transformation of the country.

The assertion was contained in a letter to a youth corp member, Ezemagu Sunday Nnamdi, who donated ten thousand naira (N10,000) as his contribution towards the re-election bid of the President.

In the letter whose content was made public by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Reuben Abati in a press release dated Friday, September 19, 2014, President Jonathan said he was touched by the support his administration has been receiving from young Nigerians from all parts of the country.

The letter reads in part:

“Your gracious gesture is particularly gratifying, coming as it does from one of our nation’s vibrant and gifted youth who are our successor generation and for whom our Administration is unequivocally committed to providing the requisite environment to optimally realize their tremendous creative and productive potentials.

“As I carry on with the task of positively transforming our country for its God-ordained greatness and prosperity, I will continue to count on the goodwill as well as the practical and prayerful support of committed patriots like you,”

President Jonathan went on to thank the NYSC member for his humble donation which had gotten to him before the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) endorsed him as its sole candidate  for next year’s presidential election stated his believe in present efforts by the federal government to re-position the country, assuring Nnamdi and other young Nigerians the he will strive to continue serving the country in line with the trust and expectations of his subjects.

Earlier, Nnamdi had accompanied his donation with a letter in which he assured the President that patriotic Nigerians were solidly behind him as he urged him to declare for re-election next year.

The letter read in parts:“Nigerians are behind you. We see your good works in power, transportation, education, housing, ICT, sports, electoral reforms, observation of the principle of federal character and the creation of investment opportunities.

“The insurgents who are trying to destabilize your Administration are enemies of peace and progress. You will surely defeat them.”
