Rochas Okorocha, the governor of Imo State, has disclosed that he jettisoned his presidential ambition because of the love he has for President Muhammadu Buhari.

He also stated Buhari was entitled to his constitutional right to contest for a second term. Okorocha disclosed this on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the government house, Owerri while briefing Journalists on the state of affairs in the state.

According to him, “I am conceding my presidential ambition because of my interest to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s interest to consolidate on the achievements of his first tenure. I will support him whenever he declares his interest to run”.

Rochas pointed out that he has lifted political activities among his lieutenants in the state for the past one month but regretted that the aspirants are still playing hide and seek political activities.

He further cautioned against undue heating up of the political environment as well as playing politics of abuse, hatred, blackmail and insult.

On the controversial letter recently written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, he sees it as an issue concerning two adults who have ruled the country but informed that their differences was resolved at the AU meeting recently held in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, advising Nigerians not to cry more than the bereaved.
