Ronaldo’s Agent Hands Manchester United Official Asking price

Must read

The Portuguese’s future has been the source of much speculation recently, and whilst it was suggested that a return to Manchester would be the 29-year-old’s most likely move, Mendes has essentially put paid to United’s hopes of re-signing the Real Madrid star by revealing his astonishing release clause.

‘I no longer get calls from anyone asking about Cristiano. It’s not worth them calling to ask for it,’ he told Spanish newspaper AS.

‘The price is that stated in his release clause – €1bn (£785m).’

Mendes had recently declared that Ronaldo moving back to Old Trafford was impossible, and it appears that this is why – United have been happy to splash the cash recently, but a move for Ronaldo would cost them more than five times as much as they spent on the likes of Radamel Falcao and Angel di Maria in the summer.
