The Social Democratic Party (SDP) on Monday, March 23, 2015 distanced itself from claims from some quarters that it had dropped President Goodluck Jonathan as its preferred candidate in favour of General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress.
Reacting to the rumours, the National Publicity Secretary of the SDP, Abdul Isiaq said the news that the SDP along with 12 other political parties had endorsed General Bugari ahead of the Saturday, March 28, 2015 general elections were dubiously false.
Isiaq added that the SDP’s endorsement o President Jonathan remained sacrosanct as the party was committed to the candidature of President Jonathan.
