Harpers Bazaar has announced its 2015 list of Daring women in the November 2015 issue of the magazine. Of course, tennis star and fashion entrepreneur Serena Williams made the list.
The 34-year-old who has won multiple Olympic medals and US Open trophies. She spoke on several issues ranging from athletics, being daring, to womanhood and more.
On what “daring” means to her:
“Daring to me is taking a chance but not doing it blindly. A very calculated change. Think of amazing women like Sheryl Sandberg and Oprah Winfrey — they’re daring, but they’re not jumping off a building without a parachute, you know?
“Venus is daring. And Ronda Rousey, the UFC fighter. The way she speaks up for herself is bold and inspiring.”
On Tennis being her destiny:
“Some people are born to do certain things, and I think I was born to do tennis. I definitely didn’t miss my calling! I think all that training just comes together. I also think I’m maybe pretty good at what I do. You know?”
