The residents of Bronx, New York were left in shock Monday morning, September 1, 2014 when a 51-year-old man committed suicide by decapitating himself on the street.
The New York Daily News reports that Tomas Rivera decapitated himself by tying a chain from his head to a pole. Police say he then got into his car and throttled forward. His car hit a parked car during the shocking incident.
This is not the first time somebody is choosing such a gruesome method of ending his life. In 2011, a Chicago man tied a cable around his neck and a tree, then drove his SUV away. He was pulled from the vehicle and decapitated in the process.
