“For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient.” – Romans 15:18 NKJV
These days, when people talk about what they have accomplished it’s usually about what they have done for themselves: “I’ve built a house”, “I have lands”, “I’ve acquired degrees”, “my children are graduates”, “I’ve established companies”, “I’m a millionaire”, “I have a car”, etc. Fantastic! But can I tell you something? Those things mean nothing in heaven!
Paul said that he wouldn’t even dare to speak about such accomplishments because he knew that they weren’t important in the kingdom. Listen, why is that so? Because they are things that God can give to you free of charge! Jesus said that if we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, those things will be added unto us.
What matters then? It’s what you have accomplished in the kingdom of God and for the kingdom of God. It’s time we began to set our eyes on the things above. It’s time to start talking about what we have done for Jesus. It’s time to start rejoicing about the great and mighty things that God has accomplished through you. It’s time for us to judge our achievements by how brightly our lights are shining for men to see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven! Your contribution to the advancement of the Kingdom of God on earth: yeah, that’s what matters most.
